Autumn sunrise in Beechworth Victoria.
As he languished in the Beechworth Gaol awaiting transport to Melbourne after his trial for robbery and murder at Stringybark Creek, infamous Australian bushranger Ned Kelly would have looked out on this scene and would have seen more gold than he ever stole.
Back in the 1800 and the days of the gold rush, this creek would have been the scene of extensive gold mining by pioneers and fortune-hunters from all over the world. Now it is just a picturesque Autumn scene.
